Swim in the tropical, crystal clear seas and lakes. Situated 10km's north of Tofo Beach. Access is on tarred roads until the last 7kms which is sand road but accessible by normal 2 wheel drive cars to most lodges.
Barra is a paradise for diving and snorkeling, with a famous reef a mere 200 meters from the shore. The young and fit normally simply swim out to the reef. Or you can dive the world famous Manta Reef at Tofo (Praia de Tofo), bordering Barra to the south. Resorts like, Palm Grove and Barra Lodge offer guided diving and snorkeling expeditions, and they have all the necessary equipment on site.
Barra is also a famous deep sea angling spot, where an abundance of game fish roam: Marlin, Sailfish, Barracuda, Dorado, Kingfish and Tuna.

Barra is a secluded unspoiled beach bordered by the Inhambane estuary on one side and the crystal clear waters of the Indian ocean on the other. The warm waters offer safe bathing and smooth and easy boat launching. Fishing grounds and diving reefs are nearby and the largely unexplored reefs offer endless pleasures for skin divers and snorklers. The estuary has magnificent mangrove areas which are spectacular to explore by boat. The nearest is town is Inhambane one of the oldest civilised towns in Mozambique dating back to the 1500’s and the Arab traders.
